The third and final volume of Isaac Deutscher's monumental life and study of Leon Trotsky was first published in 1963. It covers the years of Trotsky's exile from the Soviet Union, his movements across Europe, and his final years in Mexico, where, in his THE REVOLUTION BETRAYED, he brings to light the crimes of Stalin. In 1940, an icepick-wielding murderer ended the life of one of the fathers of the Russian Revolution.
